Promoting Partnerships with Government and the Disability Sector
We are New Zealand's leading employer membership organisation in disability and neurodiversity inclusion.
For there to be meaningful change in disability employment statistics, it must be done as a partnership between disabled people, government and employers.
We support employers to bring their voice to disability employment and other policies that may impact them.
We have fostered a constructive relationship with many leading organisations such as Whaikaha - Ministry of Disabled People, the Ministry of Social Development, and the Disabled Persons Assembly.
Our engagement with government has already seen meaningful changes in government policy. For example, the addition of Objective 3: Partner with industry to improve work opportunities for disabled people and people with health conditions to their Working Matters disability employment action plan.
We are proactively working with the Ministry of Social Development's policy recommendations around Supported Employment.
We also work closely with other diversity, equity and inclusions organisations such as Diversity Works New Zealand.
