Diverse Horizons – Job Seeking Mentorship Programme

"Diverse Horizons" is a mutually beneficial mentorship programme offered by the New Zealand Disability Employers' Network that empowers both mentors and job seekers.

Mentors have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of disabled and neurodivergent job seekers by offering guidance, support, and expertise in navigating the job market. Through their participation, mentors also gain valuable insights and knowledge about disability, fostering their own personal and professional growth. They can develop a deeper understanding of disability and neurodiversity inclusive employment practices, learn about diverse perspectives and experiences, and enhance their skills in supporting disabled individuals in the workplace.

Job seekers, on the other hand, receive personalised mentorship in job search strategies, interview preparation, resume building, and networking skills, all aimed at empowering them to succeed in their careers. They gain access to the expertise and guidance of experienced mentors who understand the unique challenges and opportunities faced by disabled individuals in the job market. Mentees can develop their professional skills, gain confidence, and expand their networks, all with the goal of achieving meaningful employment and advancing their careers.
